State of Tennessee plans to offer $250 rebate on qualifying heating and cooling units

Tennesseans who make the choice to buy Energy Star appliances will be able to add one more financial incentive for being more conscientious energy consumers.

Through Tennessee’s State Energy and Efficiency Appliance Rebate Program (SEEARP), consumers who purchase qualifying Energy Star heating and cooling units will be eligible for up to a $250 rebate. Eligible units in Tennessee are air source heat pumps, central air conditioners and room air conditioners with the Energy Star designation.

This rebate joins the others that are available to Ripley Power and Light customers who buy energy-efficient heat pumps. (Read more about other rebates and cash incentives.)

Tennessee is receiving $5.963 million in federal funds to establish the rebate Energy Star program as part of the Federal Stimulus Act.
